A friend's schoolmate died in Iraq
My co-worker Liza was so shocked when she read the Orlando Sentinel frontpage of yesterday.

I asked her what was the matter. She couldn't answer me right away. And I asked her again. She told me she knew the guy on the paper's frontpage. They graduated together in high school. I joked and asked if he just won a lottery or something. She didn't reply immediately but was glued on reading. So I took a peek at the paper and I swear to God, I almost cried!

What I saw was a picture of a young man in a military uniform...died in an ambush in Iraq. What's more, there was a small photo of him with his wife and their newborn baby, so happy together! And it was a matter of days before he went to Iraq that the baby was born.

Tsk..tsk..tsk...

Another loss of life. A life so young we haven't even seen the potential yet! A young father, husband and son lost, in addition to thousands. For what? For fucking George W. fucking Bush! That's what!

What I wanna see is have one of the Bush's family go to war and be in a middle of flying bullets and explosions. No, what I really want is that motherfucking George put his pampered ass in the line of duty and let's see what happens. I bet he'll be the first one to come home scared and cry like a bitch that he is.

I just want this war to end. We are gaining nothing - NO fucking THING! And you hear this kiss ass republicans defending shit when what they should have done was admit they screwed up, correct the mistakes and start all over. It's gonna take a while before this country will feel safe and secure again, just like pre-911. Perhaps it won't be the same as before ever again. But starting right now would be the best thing to do. LEAVE THE FUCKING IRAQ ALONE!

That country's been fucked up eversince I was growing up. Probably way before that. And I grew up in the Philippines - I know! It's in history books and such! It is known to the world! I hate to say it but maybe Saddam Hussein was the best thing that ever happened to them! Who are the Americans to just go to their country and declare war?

I'm fucking mad right now! Looking at that kid on the paper just blew me right off. It's fucking ridiculous! We shouldn't be seeing more and more of our young men and women on those papers because of their heroic deaths. That's not right! Where they belong is with their families and finishing their education.

It's very sad. To all the families left by their loved ones because of the war in Iraq - my sincere condolences

About time an Asian wins Miss Universe!!!

I am not Japanese but I am very happy that Miss Japan won the Miss Universe 2007 title. My bet, Miss Philippines, won the Miss Photogenic award, so there you go, we still won! It's about time we asians shine! It's been known that the Miss Universe title pretty much bring attention to the winner's country. Asian nations certainly need this kind of boost for our tourism and more. Whatever issues certain countries have, this can bring them out in the open so the universe can see and perhaps, help.

I am a fan of this pageant. I even kept a scrapbook for all the winners, all through the years, since its beginning in 1952, when Miss Finland Armi Kuusela, won the first Miss Universe title. Coincidentally, she married a Filipino businessman so I remember without looking at my notes. It is most fascinating seeing beautiful women all over the world (except for those who protest), gather in one place, speak their minds out and show confidence and pride. How great it is to be entertaned with such beauty! Although I have to admit that the Miss Universe pageant, before Trump, was way more exciting than when he took over. It's just more commercialized. Leave it to Trump.

Anyway, the world so much different now than before. A person with beauty given an honor to do great things for a change in this crazy world is a great help! We need all the help we can get!!!

Well, congratulations to Miss Japan for winning! Do your thing and make us proud!!!
